San Diego has an AI scene with capital, meetups and a conference calendar. Tijuana has engineers, manufacturing and universities feeding both sides of the line. The two cities are a short drive apart and their tech communities rarely overlap.
AI CaliBaja is built around that gap. Events alternate cities month by month. Spanish and English both run live, in the room. Dates and start times are set so that crossing is worth the trip in both directions.
Join the listTeams form on Friday with people from both sides. Saturday is for building. On Sunday every team shows what works. Judges come from local industry and the universities.

Five minutes per team, live, no slides. Judges ask in whichever language they like and each team answers in its own. What works wins.
Teams that want to keep going get a demo night to show progress, and an introduction to the companies in the region that are hiring.

AI CaliBaja is put on by a team from San Diego and Tijuana that has spent years producing events on both sides of the line. Logistics, venue and food are handled by people who run over a hundred events a year. The AI side is run by people who build with these tools every day.
Sponsors come in two ways: with money for prizes, venue and food, or with credits, tools and mentors. Both count, and both get said out loud on the day.
No. Teams are mixed across trades on purpose. Someone who knows the problem is worth as much as someone who can write the code.
The first event is in Tijuana. Anyone living in San Diego crosses with a passport. For events on the north side, the list gets months of notice for exactly that reason.
Both, live. Everyone speaks their own and the material is in both. Nobody has to translate themselves.
Nights are free. The hackathon has a small deposit returned when you show up on Friday. Workshops are announced with their price.
In 2027. The date and venue go to the list first, then public.
